What I want

Discovery of the day: Sometimes, "It's my birthday; I can do what I want," means, "I'm going to regurgitate this cucumber back into my gin and tonic."

Not when I say it. When I say it, it usually means, "Sure, I'll have dessert," or maybe, "I'll buy these shoes."

and now you have to tell the story behind that comment!

There's not a lot more to it than that. A friend had a birthday yesterday, and announced her intention to chew up a slice of cucumber and spit it into her G and T. When informed that that might be gross, the response was "It's my birthday; I can do what I want." Which it was, and so I did not argue.

She claims it was delicious.
