The Doogie Howser line always works on strippers

This delights me. Very, very much.

Can a tv-literate person explain this to me? All I can see here is Dr. Horrible playing keyboard accompanied by people in inexplicable custumes. And I didn't see any strippers.

Before Neil Patrick Harris was Dr. Horrible, he was Doogie Howser, a child prodigy doctor. It's a kid! And he's a doctor! Hilarious! Oh, puberty. Since it was was the late 1980s, he had absurdly poofy hair. Since he was a doctor, he wore a lab coat.
The song they are playing is the very 1989 theme to Doogie Howser, M.D.The subject line of the post was a reference to Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, in which, after Doogie Howser but before Dr. Horrible, Neil Patrick Harris plays himself, very stoned. When the main characters pick him up, they are delighted to have Doogie Howser in their car. He just wants to get laid, and suggests they go to a strip club, as he has apparently had some success exploiting his child-stardom in the past.
