You will notice there is some debris up there, but nothing actively growing on the window.This is what my window at work looked like on July 9:
That is the point at which people would come into my office and say, "Cool! Ivy!"
And this is what my window looks like today:
It is starting to scare me. Time to bring the pitchfork to work.

That's no job for a pitchfork! That's a job for a blow-torch!
Or you could just get a bunch of hair elastics and tie the ivy back.
Or trim the ivy and replace it with a bunch of medical IVs and see if anyone gets it.
Or, get lots of bottles of different color nail polish and apply to the ivy leaves. When people ask about it, say "yeah, they turned really early this year."
