The wisdom of playing Quarters (in your mid-30s) (with people who are so competitive they literally tackle)

I am not sure this post can improve upon its title.
So we're doing it call-and-response style.
What do you still want to know? I will answer questions posted as comments honestly.

Only in the metaphorical sense.
There was a good game of beer pong going on in the other room, and, out on the patio, some knock-each-other-off-a-cinderblock-by-pulling-or-releasing-a-rope.
There was also a fire, in a fireplace, on the patio, well away from the rope and cinderblocks, but I did not see anyone playing with it in any literal way.
